Course Objectives: 
It examines how typography should be used in fields such as digital and print media, agencies, three-dimensional design, printing industry. Teaches typography rules in the field of moving images.
Course Content: 

This course covers typography rules in visual communication, various usage areas of typography and alternative solutions to typographic problems.

1 What is Typography? Basic knowledge, history and stages of development in typography.   
2 Basıc concepts of Typography. The most common areas of use.    
3 Fonts. Different types of fonts. Studying important typographers and their designs.  
4 Type families, important font design of our time. Studying their structure, quality and groups.  
5 Type structures and design rules of fonts.  
6 Definition of basic measures of type structures and their use  
7 Learning to use typography effectively in visual design  
8 Mid-term / Project  
9 Typography design: On posters, billboards, motion- graphic and various other fields of application.  
10 How to create a properly readable design and regarding rules.  
11 Learning suited Typography in 3-D packaging.  
12 The effect of using color in typography.  
13 Typography design rules in 3-D outdoor projects.   
14 Assessment of typography designs in digital/motion- graphic media  
15 Determining the suited typography design according to a selected content and the effectivity of different choices of fonts.
