Biography
BA: Istanbul University, English Philology & Classic Philology (lateral branch), 1961

After 25 years, she retired from Bağaziçi University and joined the academic staff of the Communication Faculty Public Relations and Publicity Department at Yeditepe University teaching mass communication, communication, intercultural communication, and communication theories. Her global communication course has been part of the “Global Classroom Project” with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln since 2005.
She has served as a member of executive councils, advisory boards, and committees at international academic associations and journals, such as ABC, ICA, ECREA, and SIETAR. She was invited as an external reviewer for Social Sciences and the Humanities 2012, FCT-Portugal, in September 2012 and reviewed two project proposals. She was the project coordinator of Turkey for the Global Project of “Women in Media” for the years 1995 and 2000. She was awarded the Abdi İpekci Peace Prize (1991) for her article.
