► December 23–25, 2020 – “Post-Pandemic Media in a Virtualizing World” – Talk Series and “Covideo” Short Film Screenings
This three-day series of talks focused on the evolving relationship between media and the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics included the acceleration of digitalization, social media, journalism, cinema, and music. The event brought together distinguished professionals from the media industries and academia.
As part of the Covideo Short Film Screenings, student-produced short films exploring pandemic-related themes were showcased on YouTube. These works were created within the framework of the RTC 311 Film Practicum, RTC 312 Directing of Photography, and RTC 371 Short Film Production courses offered in the Radio, Television, and Cinema curriculum at Yeditepe University.

►7-9 APRIL 2019, [Workshop], "VANCOUVER FILM SCHOOL: 2-DAY FILMMAKING EVENT"
In collaboration with Vancouver Film School, this two-day filmmaking workshop featured instructors Jennifer Clement, Michael Baser, and Robert Woolsey. The sessions focused on performance for the camera and screenwriting. On the second day, students produced short films based on topics assigned by the instructors.

Formerly titled Current Issues in Media, RTC 482 Media Seminars is a seminar course in which experts, academics, and/or professionals from the media sector come together with students to share their experiences and respond to students’ questions regarding prominent current topics in the field of media.
Introduced into our curriculum in 2015, this course has been held during the Spring semesters. The topics and guest speakers of the seminars are determined each week in collaboration with a faculty member from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and the participating students.

As the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, we bring our students together with experts, academics and/or experts from the sector within the scope of seminars, workshops and workshop activities, as well as feature film and documentary screenings, bringing our students together with directors, producers, actors and important names from the project team. In this context, we have hosted the screening of "Arada" directed by Mu Tunç, the feature film "Taksim Holdem" produced and directed by Jozef Amado and Michael Önder, the feature film "Son Çıkış" directed by Ramin Matin and produced by Emine Yıldırım, and the documentary "Eski Evler ve Karayemişler" directed by Engin Yıldız.

► WORLD RADIO DAY EVENT ON FEBRUARY 13
On 13 February 2019, for World Radio Day, we produced a radio program of approximately thirty minutes as part of an event that included participation from a limited number of universities in Turkey. The project was coordinated by Department Chair Dr. Özge Erbek Kara and Academic Specialist Gökmen Kaya.
Our guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Meltem Erinçmen Kânoğlu. The program discussed radio as an intimate medium, tracing its emergence, development, and reflections in Turkey. At the conclusion of the broadcast, radio plays produced by our students within their courses were also featured.
