Admission to our faculty is carried out in three ways (ÖSYS, Horizontal Transfer and International Student Admission).
1. ÖSYS
Students are placed based on the results of the Higher Education Council Student Selection and Placement Examination (ÖSYS) in the TS-1* and score type.
* Journalism, Visual Communication and Design, Public Relations and Promotion, Radio, Television and Cinema, Advertising Design and Communication Departments
For detailed information, please visit our university's website.
2. Lateral Transfer
Inter-institutional horizontal transfer is possible based on internal and central placement scores.
Horizontal transfer application dates and quotas are published each year in our university's Academic Calendar and on the university's website. The basic rules regarding horizontal transfers are also available on the university website.
Students submit their transfer applications to the Central Student Affairs Office. The Central Student Affairs Office forwards the transfer applications (approved by the University Transfer Committee) to the faculties. The faculties review the applicant's official transcript and determine the courses for which they may be exempt in the academic programme to which they are applying.
General Regulations for Internal Transfer:
a) Internal transfers can be made to any undergraduate programme within the university.
b) Horizontal transfers cannot be made to the first two semesters or the last two semesters of undergraduate programmes.
c) In order to apply for a horizontal transfer between undergraduate programmes, the student's central placement score in the relevant score type for the undergraduate programme they wish to transfer to, based on the year they took the central exam, must not be lower than the lowest score of other undergraduate programmes at domestic universities that are equivalent to the undergraduate programme they wish to transfer to.
General Rules for Inter-Institutional Horizontal Transfer Based on Central Placement Score
a) Inter-institutional horizontal transfer based on central placement scores is carried out between undergraduate programmes that accept students based on the central placement scores of higher education institutions.
b) In applications for inter-institutional horizontal transfer based on Central Placement Scores, the placement score obtained by the student in the year they took the central exam, in the score type valid for the undergraduate programme they wish to transfer to, must be equal to or higher than the lowest score for the undergraduate programme at Yeditepe University to which they wish to transfer.
c) Inter-institutional horizontal transfer based on central placement scores may be made to intermediate classes of undergraduate programmes, including preparatory classes.
d) If the number of candidates who meet the condition mentioned in Article 2 above does not exceed 10% of the total quota for the relevant programme listed in the Student Selection and Placement System (ÖSYS) Guide for the year in which the application is made, all of them will be registered. The inter-institutional horizontal transfer quota based on Central Placement Scores for any programme is determined based on the total quota specified in the ÖSYS Guide for the relevant year, provided that it is not separate for each semester and each class. If the number of candidates exceeds the quota, the registration of candidates is carried out starting with the candidate with the highest ÖSYS placement score up to the quota.
Horizontal transfer quotas and more detailed information are available on our university's website.
The principles regarding the admission of foreign students to higher education institutions are available on the website of the Higher Education Council (http://www.yok.gov.tr/web/guest/yabanci-ogrenciler ).
Foreign students can apply online in English or Turkish via the International Office website.
Students send copies of the documents required for application, such as diplomas, certificates proving university education, transcripts and reference letters, listed on the International Office website to the International Office. Students must bring the originals of the required documents to the Student Affairs Office when registering.
The International Office forwards the completed application files to the Dean's Office of the faculty to which the student has applied. The faculties review the applicant's official transcript and determine which courses may be exempted in the academic programme to which the student has applied.
